The programme included the choir's usual mixture of short but splendid sacred and secular items, with a little audience participation towards the end. The church has excellent acoustics, often being used as a recording venue.
Dr Richard Godfrey, former organist at Farley, and restorer of the organ there, was our accompanist, and Helena Mackie, oboist in the National Youth orchestra, was the soloist.
The proceeds of the concert were shared between the Scanner Appeal at Salisbury District Hospital and Farley Church itself.
The church was built in 1808 on the site of a former church, and is a charming building in the traditional non-conformist style, complete with a balcony from which you can only see the preacher! It has good acoustics too.
The Ridgeway Chorale performed our usual varied menu of items, sacred and secular, serious and not. Our soloist was Scarlet O'Shea, a fifteen year old violinist, and member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britian.
The concert raised money for the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home, now merged with a similar organisation called Grove House and re-named Rennie Grove Hospice Care
